Using materials associated closely with Indian civilisation, the chosen artists create a singular meditation on the fragile nature of home, which is both personal and universal.

Artists
Alwar Balasubramaniam (born 1971, Tamil Nadu) works in close dialogue with elemental forces like earth, water and wind. Drawing from terracotta traditions and pigments from soil and clay, his practice blurs boundaries between material, process and nature.
Sumakshi Singh (born 1980, New Delhi) is a contemporary artist whose practice explores memory, time and ephemeral space through delicate thread constructions, installations and sculptures reflecting absence, architecture and perception.
Ranjani Shettar (born 1977, Bangalore) is known for gravity-defying sculptural forms shaped through sustained engagement with natural materials and centuries-old craft traditions, developed through slow, hand-driven processes.
Skarma Sonam Tashi (born 1997, Ladakh) creates sculptural installations inspired by the architecture and landscapes of Ladakh, using recycled materials while exploring ecological change and cultural preservation.
Asim Waqif (born 1978, Hyderabad) trained as an architect before moving into an interdisciplinary practice spanning art, architecture and ecology, creating immersive installations from repurposed materials like bamboo, timber and waste.
